Mechanical injury refers to injuries caused by direct contact between moving parts, tools, and machined parts of mechanical equipment and the human body, such as squeezing, collision, impact, shearing, entanglement, twisting, throwing out, cutting, stabbing, etc.

The two parts that are prone to mechanical injury are (1) Mechanical working parts: mainly the operator (or contact)'s body directly contacts the mechanical working device, causing compression, shearing, entanglement, impact, pricking, twisting, throwing out, and other injuries; (2) Transmission (rotating) parts: mainly caused by direct contact between the human body and rotating gears, sprockets, pulleys, turbines, couplings, etc., causing injuries such as entanglement, twisting, and throwing out.

1、 Key measures for preventing mechanical injuries

(1) Preventive measures for injuries to mechanical working parts

1. Install and use safety protection devices correctly according to national regulations;

2. Correctly wear labor protective equipment according to national regulations, such as three tight work clothes, work hats, work shoes, protective glasses, masks, etc;

3. Use special tools correctly according to regulations for operation;

4. Mechanical interlocking devices, control devices, and emergency stop switches are sensitive and reliable;

5. Strictly follow safe operating procedures.

(2) Preventive measures for injuries to mechanical transmission parts

1. According to national regulations, the general transmission mechanism is less than 2m above the ground; Pulleys with a center distance of more than 2m and a center distance of more than 3m; Belt width exceeding 15m; Mechanical protective covers should be installed for belts with a rotational speed of over 9m/min to securely cover gears, pulleys, couplings, etc;

2. When the transmission mechanism, interchange, and transmission of large-scale assembly line mechanical equipment are complex, protective barriers should be set up with a height of no less than 1.2m;

3. The mechanical protective cover should have sufficient hardness and be installed firmly and reliably.

 

2、 Safety Tips
1. Operating and maintaining equipment must wear work clothes in a standardized manner. Women should pay attention to hair management and cannot wear down gloves;

2. When operating mechanical equipment, attention should be focused, and the control of speed, pressure, temperature, and other indicators should not be too fast or too fierce;

3. Before starting the mechanical equipment, it is necessary to carefully inspect it. After the "jog test machine" is normal, it can be officially started for operation. Pay special attention to the reliability of safety protection devices;

4. When abnormal mechanical equipment is found, it should be reported in a timely manner and repaired by maintenance workers before use;

5. Ensure that the equipment is in a shutdown state before maintenance, and it is strictly prohibited to conduct maintenance, inspection, or handling of the equipment during operation;

6. Do not operate mechanical equipment that does not belong to your own operation or stop using sealed mechanical equipment;

7. Not allowed to go to hazardous locations without permission;

8. Discovering illegal operations should be stopped;

9. Report any potential accidents found in mechanical equipment;

10. To avoid harming oneself, others, or being harmed by others.
