The demand for high-performance NdFeB magnetic materials for future new energy vehicles and humanoid robots is skyrocketing

NdFeB is the third-generation rare earth permanent magnet material, which has the advantages of high remanence, high coercivity, and high magnetic energy product. It is the most magnetic permanent magnet material to date, with the widest application range, the fastest development speed, and the best comprehensive performance of rare earth permanent magnet materials.

The downstream demand for high-performance NdFeB magnetic materials is mainly concentrated in the fields of new energy vehicles, traditional vehicles, wind power generation, energy-saving variable frequency air conditioners, energy-saving elevators, consumer electronics, and industrial robots. The sum of the demand in the above fields accounts for about 95%.

At present, the demand for wind power generation is leading. As the new energy vehicle industry continues to maintain rapid development in the future, the demand for new energy vehicles will significantly boost, becoming the most important consumption area of neodymium iron boron magnetic materials globally. It is expected that the demand for high-performance neodymium iron boron magnetic materials for new energy vehicles will reach 58000 tons, accounting for 32.7%, by 2025.

By 2030, it is expected that humanoid robots will have entered a period of rapid development and will undergo large-scale production, becoming another major driving force in driving the global demand for high-performance NdFeB magnetic materials. Conservatively, it is estimated that the demand for high-performance NdFeB magnetic materials for humanoid robots will be at least 90000 tons by 2030, which will once again greatly change the demand structure for high-performance NdFeB magnetic materials.
